Joseph Kohlmaier

Joseph Kohlmaier was born in Vienna, Austria. He founded Polimekanos in 2001, and Cours de Poétique in 2016 with Stefan Kraus. He studied photography at the Schule für Künstlerische Photographie in Vienna and architectural history at the Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design, where he gained a masters degree in 2005 and where he now teaches as a senior lecturer in the history and theory of art and architecture. He is director of Musarc, a music, sound and performance research project at the Cass, which has at its heart one of London’s most progressive choral ensembles.
